I am in love with Sweden.
I have been for a very long time.
I love the language, the food, the snow, the wildlife.
There are hundreds of kilometers of trails to run in Sweden.
I had my best ever run in Stockholm.
I had my first snow fight in Sweden.
I dream about living there.
One of us is currently in Stockholm.

The rest of us...are not.

Hi there!
ReplyDeleteHave just caught up with all your blog posts - have you been busy!! Yes, Sweden is special. Are you sure you can't go on an Educational with your Husband and kids??
Take care and keep us up to date with the running.
Vicky
Hi There! The educational is a good idea ;) will have to remember to try that the next time he travels
DeleteJust think of it this way. Currently it is -5°C and dark most of the day... ;)
ReplyDeleteOh I was just reading the France edition of The Local....it is freezing there, colder than Sweden!
DeleteMy five year old daughter agrees with you :) She was looking over my shoulder as I was reading your post, and she said, "That's pretty! We should live in there!" I, on the other hand, will pass! We just returned to Brazil after spending four weeks back home in the freezing midwest USA. My MIL cried when we were leaving, and my 3 year old said, "Don't cry Grandma. It's warm in Brazil!"
ReplyDeleteLOL that is so cute! I think growing up in a warm climate means we feel the opposite. We are more than likely moving to Sweden after our assignment here is finished so I am sure it will only take one winter for me to miss the warmth again :)
DeleteAs a Swede I must say you're right! It IS a wonderful country! Of course it's quite cold and dark many months, but from the other hand there is beautiful snow and in the summer we even have midnight sun in the north of Sweden. (Maybe you like to read this post from when I was in Sweden in June:

I really hope you'll have the opportunity to go to Sweden again soon!
I love Sweden, and Greece as well!
Have a nice weekend!
Oh no the link doesn't work but I really want to read about your trip home so about to go and look around for the blog entries :)
DeleteI don't know how to make working links in the comments at Blogger, but you can just copy and paste it.
ReplyDeleteHope everything is fine with you and have a nice Sunday!
Thank you :) I will give it another try
DeleteI can fully understand your love affair with Sweden. I moved here 12 years ago from Adelaide and have never looked back. It's a truly wonderful country - a place of contrasts that one never gets tired of. I hope you get to come and live here and enjoy it all.
ReplyDeleteAlthough about mid-February every year, I do dream about being teleported to a beach in Thailand... just for a peek at the sun and to remember what warmth outdoors feels like.
Hi Marie, it is lovely to hear from you...especially a fellow Adelaidian (I lived in Adelaide and WA equally so class myself as both)
ReplyDeleteWe are hoping our next stop will be Sweden, thanks so much for your input. I can't wait to live there
